Sitty Pretty

Did I mention that we moved to Hermitage?  Well we did.  The best part about the whole move is a second bedroom and the close proximity of my home to my job.  I have been walking to work three days a week.  Its a hilly twenty minute walk and I love it!  My husband even came home parked the car and walked to pick me up on Wednesday and we walked home together.  Wasn't that really sweet of him!

So when I met my husband he had this dinette set that I fell in love with.  It was covered with blue denim for some reason that I will never understand.  I have loved the chairs and have been DYING to reupholster them.  We bought fabric once but never used it.  So when we moved I toyed with the idea of getting a new table for our kitchen.  I knew that I wanted to keep the set that we have because  I think it is really funky, retro, and earthy.  So, we went and got new fabric and recovered out chairs!  I love it!  I like to walk into the kitchen and just look at them.

Never mind the fan in the back. My husband INSISTS on having fans and I am tired of the tug of war so I am letting the fan thing go! You know in marriage you have to choose your battles!

Speaking of battles (battle of the bulge).  Let me tell you about the first vegan cupcakes I made.  I kept it simple and to be honest they were DELISH.

We devoured them.  I ate two.  We had a little girl with us over Easter weekend and she helped me make the cupcakes.  She bit her tongue they were so good.  They were SUPER moist too!  I took a big bite...they are falling apart.

This cupcake book goes on the birthday list.  Yeah my 30th is right around the corner!  And I am having VEGAN cupcakes at my party!

Thats all folks.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  I will be unpacking more crap, cleaning and maybe cranking out some banana bread.  Later!

  3. looks good. I am still on edge about vegan cupcakes. What makes it moist? I just don't get it.

So where's the party and where is my invite??? Just joking, I probably won't be able to afford to get down there anyway. But I love you just the same!! Can you believe in a little over a month we'll be 30 years old. Man, where I am at is NOT where I wanted to be, but oh well. I've still got 40 to look forward to. (YIkes)

  4. I've been looking at that Vegan Cupcake book too!!! You can get it on Amazon for $8.77!!! They have a cookie one also =O I tried a piece of Vegan Death By Chocolate Cake at a Vegetarian Restaurant here in Athens a week ago and it had to be the best cake I've ever eaten. It was SUPER moist and delicious! I tried to make a sugar free version and it wasn't bad, but nothing compares to the one at the restaurant =) That cupcake you made looks DIVINE!!! =D
